2006 nissan altima get hot and then gauge
comes back down about half way,  but when
it gets hot it get hot wat can it be

You could have several things wrong with the car, a bad water pump, a defective thermostat, Are the fans coming on when the car is at temperature? bad cap,. you may have some air in the sysytem. is there enough water ?
