97 Ford Explorer XLT

Asked by Jul 16, 2017 at 01:46 PM about the 1997 Ford Explorer 4 Dr XLT 4WD SUV

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I started my car today perfectly fine as normal, but
when i went to put it into drive i accidentally
stopped it in neutral then i tried to drive off...
Realizing it was in neutral i put my foot on the
break and went ahead to put it in drive... Once the
car was in drive the car seemed to jump up really
fast and then my car wouldn't move... I can still
start it up fine and put it in all the gears but the car
is just staying in place... It wont move when i hit
the gas pedal it just revs and revs as if its still in
neutral.

My husband has seemed to check everything that
could be wrong but he just cant figure out what it is
thats wrong with the car. If anyone has any
information please let me know.
