is Michael a V12 tires in a V6 what would it do to will it start
If I understand the question, the answer is no. The starters are vehicle specific, you just can't take a starter from one make and put it on another make.
Ford doesn't make a V12, but the starters for the 1987 Ford pickup are a different part number than the starter for a 1997 Explorer. Ford did not make an Explorer in 1987. If you need a starter, I would just go to a parts store or Ford and buy one.
Bob the Explorer was an option package back in 87 for Ford pickups, but your right about it not being a model for Ford. Back then you would see an add that would say Ford F-250 Explorer package.
