Help please? 1994 Mitsubishi Galant ES (SOHC)

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Okay so the car runs and drives strong I
have 2 issues tho (I don't think they're
connected) but anyway, #1 the ignition, I
have to crank and crank and crank the key
about 50 times pretty hard before it finally
turns over and is ready to go, I was
thinking it was either the ignition lock
cylinder or the ignition switch or maybe a
relay? I really just need to know first
because I'm on a tight tight budget and
can't throw money at the wrong parts #2 is
it chases idle about 2 out of 3 times it's
running pretty aggressively, the only thing
that gets it to stop is putting it in reverse
but then as soon as it's back in drive it
starts chasing again going between 1 1/2 -
2 1/2 grand, but then other times it just
drives like a dream smooth as butter, first
thing I was gonna do was clean the throttle
body and check the vaccum lines and I
was gonna do plugs and wires then  flush
the cooling system to get fresh fluids and
see if there was some air trapped in the
cooling system and get that out. Any help
to point me in the right direction or tell me
if I'm already going in the right direction
would be awesome, thanks.
