battery light on

My battery light is on and my check engine light is flickering on my 1993 Mazda B2600 pickup truck 4X4.  Does this mean the alternator is going out?

If you take it to your local auto parts store they will usually run a system check for you witch tests you starter, alternator, and battery. At that point and time you will have a better idea of what the problem is. not to mention, take and run a new wire from the alternator back to the battery and see if that works. I had some of the same problems with my 92 b2200 and the new wire from alt to batt did the trick for me!!
