My son's 2000 Eclipses headlights won't come on. we checked the fuses and they are fine.

Asked by djs1987 Feb 28, 2014 at 04:34 PM about the 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The left headlight has been dim for a while and if you pressed on the bulb housing it
would get bright and we would put some electric tape to hold it. Eventually it dimmed
again and stayed that way. Last night the headlights went out and won't come on at all.

Look real close at the bulb socket. Is there a light green sheen over the contacts? If so clean the corrosion off of them and use some bulb lube when re installing bulbs. If that does not work check the wires at the socket for power when head lights are on. If you have power you might have to get a new bulb socket. Had to put new ones on my wife's 2003 spyder eclipse
