I have a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse and I was going
down the road and it all of a sudden died, but also
tripped 4 different lights; one being the brake light,
two SRS light, three the oil light and four the
battery light... but it also still cranks so would you
say it’s an alternator problem or more likely fuel
pump?

I would lean towards alternator the lights kicking on is simply them being tied to ecu so when it dies usually they all go off at once..with fuel pump when turning the key to acc position can you hear the fuel pump priming.? If so more than likely fuel pumps ok..also it's not good but old fuel pump test is have someone spray starter fluid into the throttle body while cranking the car if it fires your not getting fuel. Also get a multi meter and check battery voltage if it's below 12volts alternator probably isn't charging the battery ..Good luck

I thought the same thing right away but even if it was the alternator you should be able to jump start it, it’s my brother in laws car and I’m out of state so I’m just trying to get more than one mind on this because I don’t want him spending all kinds of money on something that might not be the problem. I told him to turn the key to ON position and listen for the fuel pump and he didn’t hear anything so I’m starting to lean more towards fuel delivery issue (fuel pump)

Anything's possible bro, n throwing money at it aimlessly is definitely a waste.Usually if th alternator is bad u can jump start the car but it usually dies shortly after..as far as fuel delivery issue here's what I'd suggest..First double check fuse/relay for fuel pump just incase it blew n it could be a simple fix,If you want to check if fuel pump is bad on the fuel rail there should be a quick connect hose unclip that n have someone turn the key to acc n see if any fuel comes out n how fast n if it's steady or not, if fuel comes out then obviously fuel pump is good if you don't want to try that then go old skool n have someone spray starter fluid into the intake while you try cranking it over if it fires off that then you know it's a fuel issue. check into the crank sensor mine did that random shutting off while driving ended up being the crank sensor. Found this out after I sold it dirt cheap
