1997 ford contour will not start after replacing transmission - what's wrong with it

Just replaced the transmission.  Car started at first - went into all the gears.  Now the car won't start at all.

Another thing.. when I started the car it seem like the engine flooded and I'm saying this because when it wouldn't start again - we checked the spark plugs and they were wet with gas. We let the car cool down overnight but still it would not start.

Were you pumping the gas pedal when you were cranking the engine, if so that's a no no with fuel injection.

Yes unfortunately that happened but thought once the gas dissipated it would start which is not what happened.
