Car won't accelerate

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have an 03 galant. When I press the gas it's like it
pushing back and won't accelerate. When in first
and second gear the RPM goes up to 3-4. Usually
it'll shift at 2 1/2. I've filled tranny fluid, changed my
spark plugs, topped off the fluids in the car.
Anyone have any ideas? New alternator and battery
also.
