CEL on for no apparent reason

Asked by Mar 11, 2017 at 09:49 AM about the 2004 Mitsubishi Montero Limited 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have an 04 MIT. Montero. The CEL is on. I've changed the
oil, plugs, timing belt. Had it turned off 3 times.  What in the
world else? No diagnostics come up either. Is this an o2
sensors?

CEL never comes on for no reason. No codes? Strange. Wait till the light comes on again and test. Maybe try another code reader?

Sounds like the circuit for the check engine light is shorted to ground or the PCM (computer) is bad. HTH. -Jim

Ok guys, my mistake it was the SES light. Quick diagnosis at autozome. Emission leak (small) so I've started with the gas cap. I had the light turned off. So I guess we will sread in 50 miles or so...
