At least they are not born a lemon like the Ford Explorer. All have some parts fail sooner or later, just keep it maintained, and make sure it has been done so regular before buying.

As with any now days do not let it run hot or continue to run it while hot, have it towed to avoid head gasket issues.

Keep trans serviced, manually drain fluid do not power flush the trans fluid out, pull pan and change the filter & gasket. Pulling a low pressure vacuum (like hand vacuum to do brake bleeding) to drain out some of the fluid to top back off with new fluid is fine, as long as it is not the power flushing which hooks up similar but a machine.
