Acceleration issues 2019 Camry SE

I’ve posted previously about my issues with
acceleration delay in my 2019 Camry SE. it’s
apparently a common problem with these cars.
Toyota is aware of these issues and claims it’s
normal and won’t do anything about it. I have
noticed recently that while at a stop and I bump the
shifter over to manual shifting, the screen alway
says the car is in 4th gear. I have to wonder if this is
part of the problem. I’m no expert but I’m certain
that when driving a stick shift, you shouldn’t be in
4th gear leaving a red light. LMK if anyone has
thoughts or suggestions about this.

That’s Toyota’s feature for their stick shift, it automatically shifts the first 4 gears four you if you leave it at 4 then you take over after
