2005 Mitsubishi Galant cranks but won't start

Asked by Mar 02, 2017 at 05:15 PM about the 2005 Mitsubishi Galant ES

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

05 mitsu.  Galant es.   I gave had no problems for a
year now. Have changed oil as needed nd have
had to get a new starter but that's was last year.
Decided to use gumout fuel injector cleaner(have
used it on my previous cars ((neon, Aveo,
integrated)).   Did as instructions stated(which a
lot of ppl say don't follow now).  After riding about
20mins car oil light came on and car stopped
running.   Checked oil( had plenty because just
filled up a few days ago).  Found out fuel pump
stopped working.  Changed that and fuel filter.
Still cranks but does not start.   Have disconnected
fuel lines in all spots to make sure it's not clogged.
Fuel is passing through.   I am stumped.

I bought a new code reader but the CEL is not in now. Will try again and update.

Finally a code came up. P0340 CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR will be changing it tomorrow and hope it works.

Changed the sensor come to fnd out the timing belt was brokennnnn -_- ughhrrr

Changed the timing belt still no start. Noticed there are no rpms. Crankshaft sensor??

Any luck yet finding the answer?

Not at all. Changed crankshaft sensor as well and nada. Crank but not starting.

Keeps pulling a code P0340 and p0335 but I have changed both sensor. Also when trying to get P0335 it flashes on obd2 nd never goes to the code
