Car wont start, Mass airflow sensor is the problem

Asked by jesse Jul 27, 2020 at 08:58 PM about the 2005 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought a car off a kid that ran fine, atleast long
enough to get it home. After that it hasn't ran well
since. Having fixed several problems already. I had
someone use a code scanner on it and it put out
the code for the Mass airflow sensor. I went to a
junkyard and found one that seemed to be in
decent condition. That didn't work. Beyond that I
have no idea what coule be going on. Anyone have
any possible insight or ideas of what could be
wrong?

Try cleaning the MAFS and your air intake system and check your wire and plug. If that don't work, I'd try a new MAFS from a parts store.

did you try MAF cleaner? the spray is designed specifically for MAF sensor..(hot wires) and it worked like magic for me.

I had that problem I found that cleaning the maf and the iac worked amazing ...you do need to make sure you do buy the correct cleaner gor yhe correct part.. but yes clean the whole air intake and im pretty sure you will see a huge improvement
