Cvt Transmision Adaptacion setting
Is it safe to reset the cvt adaptation values on a mini
Cooper transmission and reprogram the settings?
I would not mess with CVT's. They are all crap and are ready to die at any moment.
who is doing the reprogramming? You or a mini dealer?
I don't see why it won't be safe, is it an update so it shifts better? Why the concern?
Mini says they can reprogram but there a risk when updating the new software. So like the service department said I can lose the tranny Any suggestions Thanks
How is it shifting now? I think the dealer is covering themselves if something doesn't go right in the programming. Is this a late ditch effort to get it sorted out before replacing the transmission itself. I don't like CVT's myself. So If you can't stand the way it is shifting, you have a couple of choices. Drive it like it is currently, sell it, or try and fix it. The decision is ultimately your choice. The car is probably worth around $4K to put it perspective. I personally would not pay to put a new trans in the car.
Well it shifts very good, my concern is when it accelerates from stop it hesitates or pauses 1-2 seconds then it engages and no further issues. Maybe the near future trade in or sell it's driving me nuts!
Sounds like your CVT is on the way out. You could try a fluid change.
Tranny fluid was changed a month ago it got better but not as I hoped
All I can say is good luck. CVT's are just not ready for prime time.
