I accidentally over revved my car

Asked by fibbermagee Mar 12, 2019 at 10:02 PM about the 2019 Honda Fit EX FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I have a brand new 2019 Honda Fit. I was putting new weather tech floor
liners in it and I covered the gas pedal by mistake. When I started the car it
revved high for about 4 seconds until I shut it off and saw what I had done. Has
this hurt my car? Thanks.

There's a limiter on it that prevents you from doing any real harm from revving an engine. So very doubtful you caused any damage at all.
