I have a 2004 Dodge SX2.0  Whrn i boost my car it starts fine. As soon as I
remove the booster cables it stopped. I measured the battery voltage at approx
3.1 volts. When I removed the positive or negative connections my battery

You have a dead battery, less then 13 volts, not enough to turn the starter motor. Replace it and go to an auto parts store and have any codes read. They may point you to the reason your battery died.

But how does that explain the voltage drop when removing battery cable? I'm just a bit confused as I am used to computers?
