Make (or buy one made already) - the resonator eliminator pipe for the exhaust. Gut the inside of that last converter in the system, just ahead of the resonator you replace with that pipe I sent the pic of. Pull the "saxaphone" off of the air intake. (Below and behind the left headlite) Make sure to use a K&n filter, but be very careful not to over oil it - it can screw the MAF all up... Make sure the plugs and coils are in PERFECT shape. On an SHO, the coils are critical, and problems with them can make the behaviour of the vehicle very erratic and unpredictable. Chuck Minnard - one of the people crazy enought to have had TWO SHO'S..... but I know them in and out, and they are a lot of fun, when they aren't f*#ked up! And by the way, find some one competent, and capable of doing a transmission overhaul on that AX4N, 'cuz there are two types of transmissions in an SHO, the ones that have blown up,and the ones that are going to...

I agree with you, except for saying the K&N will screw up the MAF. If you over oil the K&N, all it will do is dirty up the MAF sensor. It is a easy fix, using CRC MAF sensor cleaner. It takes all of 20 minutes to do. My 98 SHO has 152,000 miles on it, and the tranny is working great.

hone the secondary valves out and get bigger butterflies for it and youll add about 10hp

ya the k&n wasn't hard to clean at all with that CRC cleaner

ya the automatic transmissions are prone to failing eventually, just handle them with extra care.
