How do I get the back seat upright part out?

I need to get the seat back upright back out so I can get the trim off of the lock mechanism for the Convertible bows so I can get the part under the lock mechanism free.  I need this so I can free-up the bows so I can install the Removable Hardtop that I bought.  The bows just will not release.  Any suggestions will be appreciated.  Thank you, in advance.

I finally got it out by going in through the trunk and removing the latch which was holding the whole mechanism together.
