Low pressure A/C port on a 1995 Cougar

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I need to recharge the air conditioning of a 1995 Mercury Cougar in anticipation of the summer. I think I found the low pressure port but I want to be absolutely certain.

Low side and high side hoses are different sizes so if freon charge hose does not connect to charge port it is the wrong charging port.

Your photo is showing both Schrader valve A/C ports. The smaller of the two is always the "low side" port. It looks like you have circled the low side port and that is the one you recharge through. If you have fittings that fit the "high side" port, that's where you attach the pressure gage.
