97 sable wont start has a good batterie it powers up . I can put a screwdriver to the starter and it will start then it runs fine

sounds like you know what your doing....so )( is there power to the little S IGN WIRE UNDER THERE..IF SO THEN THE SOLENOID IS NO GOOD..BUT MAKE SURE THE BATTERY IS NOT LOW ON VOLTAGE BECAUSE WHEN IT IS YOU CAN STILL JUMP IT DOWN THERE...YOU CAN TAKE THE SOLENOID OFF OPEN IT UP CLEAN THE CARBON /CONTACTS ..STRETCH THE SPRING AND REPLACE IT..THAT WILL MAKE IT WORK AGAIN IF ITS NOT FRIED
