Cannot start my 1998 mercury mystique.

I replaced the ignition switch and the car started...I restarted it several times with no problem.  I later came back and tried starting it again and it wouldn't start...no dash panel lights, no nothing...the head lights would not even go on.  Know the dash lights go on when I turn the key to on position but go out when I turn the key to start position...the engine doesn't turn over and all dash lights go out...no power when key is turned to start position.  What could be my problem.  You may also reply to my email address:  htheuerkauf@outlook.com

Check battery for full charge. Also clean and tighten all battery connections

Sure sounds like a loose or dirty battery connection. Or loose or dirty frame or motor ground cable(negative).
