Why is my Hyundai sonata vibrating while stopped in drive?

Asked by Narlos8 Jun 25, 2020 at 02:48 AM about the 2004 Hyundai Sonata V6 FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just bought a 2004 Hyundai sonata with 100,000
miles on it. It has been well maintained and cared
after by the previous owner. I noticed while driving
it that it will vibrate heavily when stopped and in
drive. The vibration goes away as soon as you
accelerate, are at speed, or put the car in park,
neutral, or reverse. The problem only occurs when
stopped and in drive. I was thinking it is an engine
mount issue but could this be because of a
transmission problem?

It doesn't have the CEL on and it runs perfectly smooth and almost silent while driving. The spark plugs, coils, and wires were replaced 6k miles ago so I'd be really surprised if it was a misfire...
