what risks can you have if the rear end differential does not get fixed

I hear a clunking noice in the rear when i start to take off

It will get to the point soon that it will either lock up completely or start braking parts inside. Have you checked the diff lube in the rear end? Are your axle seals leaking? Are you sure its the rear end and not a u-joint(s), driveshaft, rear spring, loose or broke shock or shock mount?
