my ac started smoking- need help

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving and smoke poured into the cab under the glove box. I shut down AC and
pulled over. I have since replaced the ac fan, the blower module resister and checked
fuses. The fan won't spin. The plug to the fan gets 12v when not on. Once I turn ac or fan
on at the controls it drops to zero Volts. I can't find wiring diagrams to figure out if there is
a short. Please help if you have advice. Thank you!

You replaced the fan in the heater control box but it will not spin? Did it spin out of the box before installation? Also, it does not sound normal to have 12V applied to the fan if it is put in the "OFF" position and zero V when "ON". Could you have it wired backwards?

I replaced the fan. It spun when I jumped it out if the box . I didn't replace any wiring, yet.
