my sable has a loud ticking sound under the hood.

was quieter but recently is louder, doesn't matter if I'm idleing or driving down the road and speed doesn't matter. I thought it might be a belt but it's coming from the opposite side, and I can't track where from. It wasoccational, but know it's all the time.

I believe it's your compressor clutch. It's an expensive repair and there is no bypassing it. 1100 or more. They have to drop the motor to fix it.. Sorry.
