1980 Camaro base model

Asked by Jcamaro44 May 31, 2018 at 02:41 PM about the 1980 Chevrolet Camaro Coupe RWD

Question type: General

Hey! I’m 19 years old and know very little
about cars but want to learn a whole lot
more but can’t even figure out really where
to begin. I recently got my hands on a
1980 base model Camaro with a
aftermarket v6 engine and automatic
transmission. I’m looking to do a v8 and
manual swap myself (with a help of some
knowledgeable friends and their dads). As
of right now I’m thinking of getting a Chevy
performance 383 block and building from
there and the transmission im not even
sure where to begin on that especially on
what is comparable or not. So if anyone
has any knowledge on this or any places
where I can start to figure it out it would be
greatly appreciated!

A Connect and Cruise engine from Chevrolet will make the process almost painless (except to your bank account). Does your state have smog checks? Good luck!
