Broken air conditioner how expensive to fix

mazdas can get expensive to fix it all depends on whats wrong, does it act like it wants to put out cold air, can you hear the a/c compressor clutch trying to kick on, try to turn it and see if the compressor bearring is frozen, most of the time you just have a leak in the system and you can just go get it recharged and it will work, if its just a leak and you need it recharged you can go to wal mart and get a kit to recharge it, for $20, or you can take it to a mechanic and it should be a little less than 100, but it all depends if its been changed over from R-12 those years still used R-12, if it has been changed to R-134A ya can get the kit from wal mart, but if its more than a leak, your probably looking at 300-800 to fix,best bet take it to a mechanic, and get it checked out most are still offering a a/c checkup special.
