Why the oil pressure drop to nothing when idling?

Asked by Teresa Jun 08, 2017 at 09:21 PM about the 1998 Ford Mustang Coupe RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Changed the oil sending unit, changed oil and filter, ran a straight oil pressure
gauge and still drops to nothing. Help please

Maybe your engine is worn out or maybe it is the oil pump. I would drop the pan and see if the oil pick up screen is plugged up.
