Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Valve covers were removed off my 97
mazda millenia with a 2.5 engine. The
windage tray was removed from one of the
valve covers for cleaning. It was not
reinstalled on the valve cover when the valve
cover was reinstalled on the engine. Will that
cause the vehicle not to start.

No that would not cause the engine not to start. I would not call that a windage tray but more of an oil baffle. If it is missing you may end up with too much oil being sucked up the PCV.
