Honda CRV Hands Free issue

Asked by Rblees98 Jul 28, 2018 at 11:48 AM about the 2018 Honda CR-V Touring FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought a 2018 CR V Touring in May
and having an issue with the hands
free while speaking to people on the
phone.   I can hear the person on the
phone with no issues, but the person
on the other line tells me there is a
static noise that goes in and out and
gets louder as I accelerate. If I'm sitting
at a light the noise is still there, but
they can hear me then it gets louder as
I start going at higher speeds. To the
point they can not hear me at all
I've taken it to the dealership and they
rebooted my system and it did not fix
the problem. It's extremly frustrating to
buy a brand new car and pay for the
features and not be able to use them. I
travel for my work and i really need this
problem fixed.  I've read other people
are having the exact same problem
and Honda doesn't know what or how
to fix.  Any help would be appreciated.

I have the same questions and issues except it's with a 2018 Accord Sport...I hope there is a nationwide recall...

After going to three different dealers and they "not hearing any problem", finally I found one who did: the Service Manager at Ken Vance Honda, Eau Claire WI. I supplied them with 30+ pages of complaints documented on this website, and they relented and replaced the audio unit. It was a slight improvement, but the "chorus of turkeys" sound the other party hears when I call from my 2018 CRV EX is still there. $30,000, and they can't figure out --or won't deal with--a bad Hands Free system. Shameful.
