Mazda Millenia 1999 2.3L Miller Cycle sedan: How do I fix the supercharger?

Car engine starts and ticks over nicely, except when you start off and it takes too long to accelerate. A mechanic swapped the vacuum tubes on it and it took off like a rocket, but didn't last...it went into limp mode. Timing, fuel, air filter, exhaust, transmission have all been checked out. Where to next? I would really appreciate some help with this.

any codes thrown? most probable would be 1525/26, 1540. check your bov, if it is stuck open, which i have never heard of, but then i have never heard of an idiot swapping vacuum lines and letting the motor go to overboost. the bov has a brass colored dashpot, and is close to the battery. and i would avoid that "mechanic" in the future. the pcm is uber anal about overboost, and will throw the car into limp home if bov is malfunctioning. swapping vacuum lines may have overpressurized the intake, and maybe a vacuum line blew off.

When I went to Mazda Training for the Miller Cycle Engine, the Engineers were adamant about calling it a "Lyschomb Compressor" (spelling?) instead of a Supercharger. Po-ta-to / Potat-o. :)~ Great advice BTW.
