Question type: Maintenance & Repair

What is the largest direct replacement engine I can fit into a 2008 mustang
without cutting into the fire wall or notching the shock towers to fit the headers?

A 5.0 Coyote crate Motor would be a nice addition.

The only direct replacement is exactly what you have now. You can probably make a 5.4 Triton fit. The Coyote will entail a lot of work since your car did not come with one. Your best choice is to buy a GT.

Mark, I have another unique question. If I install a Triton engine can I utilize the existing transmission or will I have to change it as well? As you can tell I'm not real knowledgeable on this subject. thanks!
