Swapping AC from 1998 Explorer

Asked by Charles Apr 14, 2019 at 12:52 PM about the 1998 Ford Explorer 4 Dr Limited 4WD SUV

Question type: Car Customization

Hi, I have a wrecked 1998 Ford Explorer with good ac system. I'm wondering
if its possible to take the ac components and fit them in another car I have
that doesn't have ac. My question is if the ac system could be configured to
run independently in the new car. The new car can easily have a compressor
added as there is brackets available etc, just I dont know how much of the ac
system is integrated with the pcm or whatever...

thanks for your answer, so thats the only circuit that is involved with the ac in the pcm? idle control?
