Mazda 6 2004 help with a few things...

Asked by Henry May 08, 2018 at 01:29 PM about the 2004 Mazda MAZDA6 4 Dr s Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So, got a mazda 6 2004 S 2.3L 4 cylinder for my first car, and something that
kinds worries me is that when I'm driving it and I randomly let go a little of the
gas it kinda moves back and forth a little and the RPM jumps back and forth,
and check engine lights come on, TCS off button comes on, and another
TCS light comes on (the one with the car and skid marks behind it) Please
let me know what it is, I still need to get another set of break pads and 4 new
rotors. Thanks!

Henry, the first thing I would do is pull the code(s) (check engine) and read the information. You can take the car to any parts store and they will do it free, but don't start buying any parts they say that you need before you get a second opinion. The TCS or traction control system is tied in with the anti lock brake system. it uses the wheel speed sensors to determine when to activate.

Alright, yeah I remember get a cam sensor code, and I replaced that yesterday, and a cat converter code, but my mechanic said he'd pass me when I get the can sensor replaced and I did. This is just for emissions. As I said above I'd still need to replace all pads and rotors. Thank for your reply!
