Yes it comes out of arm rest.take a small flat head screw driver place under switch pry up unplug replace.
Thanx. That's what I figured when looking at the new switch but the car was an hour away at my son's place. Now if I could just figure out why the O/D OFF light stays illuminated on the dash even though the transaxle is clearly shifting normally. Pushing the button on the shift lever also works as it's supposed to from a transaxle perspective. Just the light is always on. Frustrating.
the od light on the contour is a common problem with it staying on.problem is the switch itself to the cluster light.most of what I have seen is people putting a pice of black tape on to cover the light.
Where is this switch? Do you mean the button on the shift lever? Is it a PITA to get to? Thanx
no,just remove the shifter knob,their it is.
