New fuel pump, won't turn on.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1987 gmc sierra with fuel tanks. Fuel pump was
intermittently turning on. Swapped with new kne,
turned on once and now will not turn on at all.
Connected to external power source and it turns
on. Placed a test light in connections and seems to
have necessary power. Someone suggested the
ignition control module could be an issue. Lost and
not wanting to tow this to a GM dealer so they can
bleed me dry.
