How do I stop my fuel from spraying back out the filler tube?

Asked by hawks5 Apr 28, 2008 at 11:20 AM about the 1999 Kia Sephia LS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I called the dealer and was told there was a valve which controled the fuel shut off, but they didn't have any advice on how to remedy the problem. Just said that it was probably stuck.

If it sprays fuel out any time that you put gas in it then the vent hose is clogged up.

That was a recall issue on my 1998. Dealer should have to fix it for free! I just use lower flow and never have a problem.
