At the same time hold the power button on the radio and the right arrow which is directly underneath the screen for about 10 seconds, and that should reboot your system. If that doesn't reboot the system then you would want to call for to schedule an appointment.

So I just went back to my car a few hours later and everything was fine. I'm thinking it has something to do with the battery life? It happened briefly before and I ended up needing a new battery a few weeks later.

For about two months now my 2010 Ford Fusion hybrid screen has been going off and on, but it was only about 2 weeks ago it went totally black and hasn’t turned on until just yesterday for about 3 seconds... the radio and everything else works great, but I just couldn't see what I was doing. so what we did was unhooked the battery and let it sit for overnight, the next morning when we hooked it back in, the radio screen was in perfect order! All it needed was a reset, but before we did the reset we had to make sure the radio still had some “brain power,” which is why we did it the night of when the screen turned on for 3 seconds! If this had not worked, it would’ve cost almost $600 to replace....

We have a 2014 Fusion Hybrid. Today the backlight where all the buttons for the a/c, heat, defroster went out. The screen where you see the radio, temperatures, stopped working, too. I had difficulty setting the temperatures because it says 00. How do I fix that? And where is the power button? We have a key to start the car....?

As I mentioned, we have a 2014 model. We still have a regular key, not a power button to start the car. The car is fine now. I must've hit something by accident that the dial was way off... I did a few things and it's all good.

I am having the same issue! 2018 Ford explorer. Tried the volume arrow and worked the first few times....now nothing works! No reverse camera and no radio! The truck is brand new, I have only had it for 2 years, bought it straight from the dealer....this is so frustrating, I have found a lot of people having an issue with this, I am surprised there has not been a recall!

Screen was black and unresponsive when I started my 2013 Fusion SE 2.0T today. This has never happened before. The power + right arrow trick didn't work so I unhooked cable to positive battery terminal for 10 minutes then reconnected. Screen came back on normally after that.

2013 Fusion. No radio, all other functions on screen working. I tried the on button/fast forward reset - did not work. Removed radio fuse (most awkward place possible for the fuse panel), contacts were tarnished, polished them up and put fuse back in. Radio is now working.

2018 Ford Fusion SE with SE TECH/SYNC 3 Package Purchase date (Bought new): 11/4/2018 Todays date: 12/8/2020 Ownership time: 2 years, 1 month I'm also having issues with the black screen. The first time or two that it happened, I was able to reset the radio using the power button and right arrow button. Unfortunately, no matter how many times I seem to try and reset it now, it won't work. I do get the Ford logo and it appears to attempt to boot but it just gets hung-up. Additionally, if I leave the car for a period of time and then come back, it will sometimes work (just upon normal start-up). The issue is becoming more frequent now though. I did recently have the extended range remote start system installed (part numbers included below). I'm wondering if this is part of the issue. While I have had to reset the radio a couple of times in the 2 years that I've owned the car prior to installing the remote start, now that I have the remote start installed, the issue seems to be way more persistent and harder to resolve. - JS7Z-15603-A (Remote Start Ultra-Long Range Extender Antenna) - JS7Z-15K601-B (2-Button Remote Start System - Long Range w/ Confirmation) - KN1Z-19A361-A (Vehicle Security System - Ford Perimeter Plus) I will be contacting my dealership today. Honestly, they struggled to get the remote start installed when I initially had the work done (they charged me for the extended range system, failed to give me the extended range remote, and then after getting me the remote, struggled to get it programmed), so I'm worried they won't be able to do much for me. I'm hoping to find out if anyone else has noticed these black screen/infotainment issues after getting remote start installed. Best, Carlsow Please note, I know the dash says "Audio Off." Pushing the radio power button does not turn it on.

I got it to reboot another way that fixed it. Pushing the buttons as suggested did not work. I disconnected the battery, turned the start key to drain any capacitors etc. Rehooked up the battery and the system rebooted.

2018 Ford Transit Connect Problem: (Following the battery dying and getting jumped) The radio did not play music, the media console did not backlight its buttons, and the media screen remained blank except for date time and temp. Some have suggested this phenomenon is like the radio getting stuck in low-power mode. What did NOT work for us: Holding power/right buttons and the power/skip buttons did not restart the radio. We considered trying the disconnect-the-battery option but geez did that battery look difficult to get to! What DID work for us: Taking out the fuse for the audio and then putting it back in. In our model, it was fuse #79 in the passenger fuse box underneath the glove box. Car off, fuse out, fuse back in, car on. What a relief to see that audio panel light up again!

The power and right arrow unfortunately hasn’t worked on my 2004 Fusion. It was working fine until it went into the garage and a fuse was changed for something else. Now the audio system lights up but there is nothing on the screen, so I know power is getting to it. Any advice gratefully received.
