2002 Kia Radio dead after backwards battery install. Fuse is clean and working, radio is dead.

Asked by Jay Jun 29, 2014 at 08:12 PM about the 2002 Kia Sportage Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My son accidentally installed his new battery backwards.  After replacing the 80 am fuse, the radio would still not turn on.  The fuse was still good.  I'm told there is a security code to enter for a reset, but there is no power at all to the radio.  What am I missing?  Is there an in-line fuse that I can't find?  A magic trick I don't know?  Please help!!!
