Rattling!

I drive a 2002 Spectra LS, 1.8L Automatic. It's rattled since I got it in september '08, and it's most noticeable around 2,300 to 2,700 rpm, no matter what gear I'm in or how hard I'm accelerating. A couple of people agree with me that it sounds like a loose heat shield, and I'm wondering if anyone's had the same issue, and what it was, so I'm not underthe car for hours looking for the culprit.

heat shield,,rattles like crazy if it's loose,2000 hatch did the same thing!
