On my 2004 Taurus it turned out to be the brake booster leaking brake fluid so check that level. I don't expect a sudden failure so I never fixed mine. I just add an ounce of fluid a month. Now it can also be antifreeze. Watch your fluid level and look for maybe a leak at the water pump, heater hoses, etc. There are also tranny cooler lines over there that run forward to the radiator. Check it out. Good Luck.
