99 Ford Taurus rattle that stops when I accelerate

Asked by BettyHasAJunkCar Mar 01, 2018 at 07:13 AM about the 1999 Ford Taurus SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 99 Ford Taurus. Recently it has been rattling (like aluminum cans
dragging) and the rattle stops when I press on the accelerator. Nothing is
dragging and not low on oil. When I look into the engine, it seems to be
coming from underneath passenger side, but when I stand next to drivers
door, it seems to be coming from under there. Also, may or may not be
related..for about a month there has been a low knocking sound when I go
slow and turn the wheel.
