99 Taurus made loud noise won't start

My sisters 99 Taurus made a loud noise which she
said sounded like a tractor,  mechanic said motor
was seized but it spins and has compression.  I
have a starter to put on it but want to know what
else it could be.

If it spins and has compression, do u mean it cranks? If it cranks then the starter is good. Check the coil pack maybe it crapped out. Usually u can Check the bottom side for cracks. Also check and see if that belt is still attached. If that belt is broken check and make sure it didn’t damage the cranks sensor
