Cam shaft position sensor code

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Okay so my car has been having problems it takes
2 times to start (unless im starting it up after getting
gas) but yesterday i went to a doc apt and my car
didn't want to start it took about 10 times it finally
did i went home and went to my mechanic about an
hour later and my car has since not started up.
Since then ive found out my mass air flow sensor
thing has a huge rip or crack ...(can that stop the
car from starting?) he hooked the code reader up
and the same code thats been there aomething
about a catylic converter/emissions i think P0402
and a new code....a cam shaft position sensor.
Thing is i got the connector and sensor changed
abd car still didn't start
