Is it true that the 2004 Kia Spectra require Factory Brand Kia Transmission Speed sensors to operate the car correctly? I have a P0501 Transmission speed sensor engine check light on. I purchased a NAPA Input and Output sensor in which I only found 1 placement for the sensor under the car filter cavity of the vehicle. Kia is advising me that I need to purchase the Kia part at $151 vs Aftermaket part at $50. Am I being bamboozled?

The only one I have located was right under the air filter. There is not another one I see. I didn't know if the vehicle is not accepting the Napa Part and need the original or if there are 2 sensor location instead of just one.

There is another speed sensor towards the firewall of the vehicle towards the back.I replaced both of my speed sensors myself with aftermarket brands and my speedometer only works when engine is cool.So I might need the factory brand speed sensors as well.I am checking on that information..

It is true you need the OEM actual part for kia spectra the aftermarket part looks the same but doesn't fit the connector properly I know I had the same problem, but you can find OEM actual parts on ebay for cheaper than the dealership
