My car cuts out and immobiliser light comes on

I’ve just purchased an 05 reg sportage. Whilst
I’m driving it will cut out and lose all power.
I’ve noticed when it does this my immobiliser
light will come on. Does anyone know what’s
going on?

I haven’t yet no. That’s my next port of call to go to my local Kia garage and see if they can see if there’s a fault with the key
