The brake lights are not working but the hatch
brake light does?

Did you figure this one out? I have the same issue right now and I am about to check out the fuse. But if that's not it I don't know what to check next. Both went out at the same time so it seems unlikely that it is the bulbs.

My dealer has NO answer to this whole thing. Conclusion: The car is poorly made. There is NO EXCUSE for brake lights that cannot be fixed. That is called, NO QUALITY. Other car makers have it figured it out. The Model A Ford had working brake lights. Battery, switch at pedal, wires, lights. That is all it takes. How did Kia screw it up ?? Dunno.
