My 2018 Chevy equinox sunroof won't open the dealer claims the car is not recognizing the sunroof. Anyone else have this problem?

Asked by Jul 24, 2017 at 11:43 PM about the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox 1.5T LT AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I brought the car to the dealer to fix the
sunroof. They thought it would be a
minor fix just reset it. The mechanic s
don't know what the problem is and
how to fix it. They called gm and they
don't have any answers either. The car
has less than 2000 miles and I have it
less than 3 months. It is leased and I
have a loaner car and it's been 5 days
already with no answers. Any one else
have this problem?

if the dealer cant figure it out tell them to exchange it for one that works... not your problem

How long time wise do I have to give them before asking for a new car? It is a new lease.

I hope you see this.. Did you get it resolved. I've had my 2018 for just over a month and tonight I found the same issue. I had the roof open and it closed very slowly. When I went to open it again it won't budge. The shade moves but the glass won't open.

I am curious is your Equinox an AWD which the Sunroof is Standard or a FWD where is is an option. I am having the same problem only with the Shade will not close past halfway. Currently They have flown in an engineer to look at in and suspect a Software issue. I Suspect that the FWD and AWD use different computers and that the coding is wrong .
