This needs to be fixed asap for safety reasons. It has to be looked at to determine what exactly what part is worn. It could be a tie-rod end, wheel bearing, ball joint, or control arm needing to be replaced.

Check the front wheel balancing. These smaller vehicles are very prone to this. If you are getting this steering vibration on applying brakes, it will be the front brake discs that need to be replaced. Be careful of having thee front brake discs skimmed. This problem of front discs is often caused by a lot of brake application , maybe when travelling down hill and then driving through a large puddle of water or river. The discs will cool down rapidly and cause the brake discs to warp. If this has happened, then try skimming lightly. You might come right. The bucked discs if left long enough will also cause the front tyres to where unevenly.
